Parini’s job shadow program is a one-time work-based learning experience for Detroit-area high school + college students to visit Parini’s office to observe daily activities and learn about a potential career in interior design. Our mission is to integrate diverse perspectives into the design industry by introducing youth to opportunities within the arts, in an effort to expand and support inclusivity + representation in the field of interior design.

Interested students should complete the Participant Information form and Job Shadow Agreement in-line below. Parent/Guardian signatures are required to be eligible for any applicant under the age of 18. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request Parent/Guardian authorization waiver if needed. Pending receipt of application, Parini will reach out with program availability and next steps. The enclosed form must be completed prior to the job shadow day in order to be considered.
The student will complete a volunteer observation during a one-day, four-hour period.
Transportation of the student to/from Parini’s studio is the responsibility of the parent / guardian / student.
Student participants are required to complete the attached information sheet to be eligible to participate in the program.
Students must be age 16+ to participate.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY
Parent/Guardian and student agree emergency medical treatment may be administered to the student if necessary while participating in the job shadowing program. Permission is given to release necessary emergency contact/medical history to an attending medical provider.
Parent/Guardian and student agree to release Parini from any and all liability for injury or losses that may arise during the job shadowing experience.
Parent/Guardian and student understand that wages will not be paid during this experience. This is an off-campus learning and observation experience where an employer/employee relationship does not exist. This program has been carefully planned to meet the non-paid exploration guidelines set forth under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Parent/Guardian and student agree to allow pictures to be taken of the student on-site to be used for public relations purposes.
This agreement must be signed by all parties prior to participation in the job shadowing experience. Parent/Guardian and student hereby agree to the terms of this agreement.
